BIOGRAPHY
Michael Buck, Doctor of Optometry, Texas Optometric Glaucoma Specialist
Dr. Michael Buck attended the University of Wisconsin, graduating with honors with a bachelor's degree in cellular biology in 1997. He continued his education at the Michigan College of Optometry where he earned his Doctor of Optometry degree after completing three years of classwork and a year of externships at the Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota; the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw, Michigan; and the Olin Heath Center and the Department of Neuro-Ophthalmology at Michigan State University. He received an American Foundation for Vision Awareness scholarship and graduated with highest honors in 2002. He moved back to Wisconsin and cared for patients at D.O.C. Optics, where he received the organization's national "Doctor of the Year" award in 2003. Before he and his family relocated to Texas several years ago, he practiced at his private optometry office in Wisconsin for seven years. Dr. Buck performs thorough and comprehensive examinations in both English and a working knowledge of Spanish.

Dr. Komal Shanmugam will greet you with her positive attitude and a warm smile. She has a passion for delivering excellent customer service and quality patient care.
Dr. Shanmugam earned her Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry in 2008. She is currently a member of the Bexar County Optometric Society.
Dr. Shanmugam has worked at private practices, a LASIK facility, and has been a relief doctor as needed. She has practiced in Chicago, Milwaukee and now in San Antonio. If you have any questions regarding refractive surgeries or cataract surgery, Dr. Shanmugam is here to help!
In her free time, Dr. Shanmugam enjoys dancing, traveling and spending time with her three children, husband and friends.
